Outcomers launch LGBTQ+ workshops

The isolation of lockdown has been hard on everyone s mental health, but there is always support, advice and someone to chat to if you know where to look.
Last week, Outcomers Drogheda started a series of Free LGBTQ+ Well-Being Workshops, kicking off with an LGBTQ+ Mental Health Workshop.
This series of six workshops will run bi-monthly through 2021, and each will have their own unique theme related to the well-being of the LGBTQ+ community in Ireland and each will be facilitated by expert professionals.
These had originally been planned to be in person, but obviously we ve had to transfer them to Zoom, explains Anthony Kinahan, chair of Outcomers Drogheda. Actually, that has worked out really well, as people from as far as Belfast and Cork have been able to join in, where they wouldn t have been able before. ....

There was no great inspiration for Peter Moroney to put pen to paper and write In Two Minds - a personal and reflective look back on his life and how so many aspects came together to test his durability as a human being.
It features depression, suicide, suicide bereavement, and survival. It is also about abuse and the ensuing battle with the Irish justice system. As he says, it was something that was 30 years in the making and written over the past three years. The end result is something that came from his soul.

Ann's 80 glorious years celebrated with family

It was a case of third time still unlucky as the family of local woman Ann Smith had to cancel the latest effort to celebrate their mam s 80th birthday in style!
But the warm wishes of her husband, children and grandchildren were enough to put a big smile on her face.
Caroline (Gregory) and her brother Patrick had booked the Westcourt Hotel for a party for over 100 on New Year s Eve for their mother Ann. That was downsized to 50, then 25 and now it will be immediate family only on January 4th!
It s just not to be, says Caroline with a laugh. The main thing is a few of us will be with them on Christmas Day, which a lot of people won t even have. ....
