The Jefferson County Public Works Department will hold an open house-style meeting on Thursday, Jan. 11, to share information about its plan to build a bridge over Plattin Creek on Boyce Lane in southern Jefferson County where currently there’s just a low-water crossing, nicknamed "the slab."
It was a case of third time still unlucky as the family of local woman Ann Smith had to cancel the latest effort to celebrate their mam s 80th birthday in style!
But the warm wishes of her husband, children and grandchildren were enough to put a big smile on her face.
Caroline (Gregory) and her brother Patrick had booked the Westcourt Hotel for a party for over 100 on New Year s Eve for their mother Ann. That was downsized to 50, then 25 and now it will be immediate family only on January 4th! It s just not to be, says Caroline with a laugh. The main thing is a few of us will be with them on Christmas Day, which a lot of people won t even have.
