WESTERN TREASURE VALLEY â COVID-19 case counts in Idaho remained low this week, with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare reporting only 120 confirmed cases on Thursday. In the departmentâs weekly summary report of cases in Idahoâs long-term care facilities on Friday, the increase over its April 30 report represents just 1.6% of Idahoâs 713 new cases for the week.
The total case count in these facilities reached 9,533 across 319 facilities, up 12 over the week prior. In 18 of the 289 resolved outbreaks, only one case in a resident or staff member was reported.
There remain 1,290 active COVID-19 cases in 30 facilities, but 178 facilities have reported a total of 793 related deaths.

As Idaho inches closer to having 500,000 residents fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the state posted its second-lowest weekday case count of 2021.
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare reported 177 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. The only time this year that fewer cases were reported on a weekday was Feb. 15, when there were 115 new cases, according to data from IDHW.
Idahoâs seven-day moving average sits at 210.4 new cases per day, a decrease of about 87% from a peak of 1,653.3 in mid-December.
WESTERN TREASURE VALLEY â The state of Idaho continues to buck the trend as it relates to the fourth wave of COVID-19 cases in the U.S., with just 154 confirmed cases reported statewide on Thursday according to the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare. This continues to reflect in the effort to control the spread of the disease in the stateâs long-term care facilities.
In the departmentâs weekly summary report on Friday, the total number of reported cases reached 9,521 across 319 facilities. This represents an increase of just 31 cases over the total reported the week of April 23.
Out of the 284 resolved outbreaks, 18 included only one reported staff or resident case.

One new coronavirus-related death was added in Elmore County (15 total). According to updated demographics from Health and Welfare, the latest death in Elmore County was a man in his 60s.

According to the Idaho Department of Health & Welfareâs weekly summary report for Friday, the number of total cases statewide is at 9,490 and shared among 319 Idaho facilities.
This week saw an increase of only 21 new cases. No new outbreaks were reported over the previous week.
274 outbreaks are presently resolved, with 18 of them reporting just one case among staff or residents. Presently, 2,282 cases remain active in 45 facilities.
The death toll has reached 789 statewide, accounting for three deaths reported since April 16. There are âjust over 400â such facilities in Idaho, according to the department.
