A recent study found that consumption of sugary sweet drinks in adolescence may increase the risk of colon cancer.
Researchers at Washington Medical University in the United States recently conducted a study to find the cause of the increasing number of colon cancer diagnoses in people under the age of 50. As a result, the researchers found that sugar-added beverages increased the risk of colon cancer in women under the age of 50. The researchers said, “Since adolescence, the habit of eating sugary beverages increases the risk of colon cancer.” The findings were published in the online’Gut’ journal, and ScienceDaily reported.
