The area is in the southern section of puget sound, which is sort of Washington State and the pacific northwests great inland water. And when the Transcontinental Railway came, there was talk of one day being able to expand puget sound. But really wasnt an undertaking anybody was prepared to do. During the depression federal programmed like the building of the grand coolly dam and stuff, there were big job creating works projects happening in the pacific northwest.
