WSU students run amok, stoning cars and blocking N2 in violent protest

There was chaos on the busy N2 in front of the Walter Sisulu University’s Nelson Mandela Drive campus in Mthatha when hundreds of angry students, armed with sticks, steel rods and stones, pelted cars and blocked the road with burning tyres and other materials. Some motorists turned back fearing for their cars, while one unlucky truck driver who was delivering a load of sabunga to Lower Ngqungqu Primary in Mqanduli, had to ditch his load in the middle of the road.
