Investigators say the two 18 yearolds ditched their car after this crash early yesterday morning. Then reported it stolen. However, police, when they went to talk to the two teens, were not buying the story and both of them were arrested. The young man accused of being behind the wheel is now facing a very serious charge of attempted murder. Police say he intentionally plowed his car into a richmond officer during a weekend side show. Dramatic cell phone video taken by a bystander shows a black sedan, speeding up, and then slamming into a Richmond Police officer, who was standing in the street. That officer had responded to break up a large side show early sunday morning, near marina bay parkway and regatta boulevard. The driver who hit him sped off. This young woman is just one of two teenagers to lose their lives in horrific accident. Police say they were rushing to the hospital after learning of a family emergency when their lives were cut short. We are not far from where one of the victims lived. They did have a memorial here a couple dozen people here. They left just a short time ago. This crash happened just after midnight this morning. Three teenagers as you mentioned rushing to the hospital but never got there. Tonight we all lost a great friend. A brandnew guardrail in place after exit 14. A perfect crash caused one man to be dead and the crash racking his car. He went over there rode all over the guardrail and going airborne. Can you imagine driving down at 1 am as cautious as been. The driver of 55yearold man died at the scene while the driver who was hit, a 21yearold woman was transferred to Boston Medical Center with nonthreatening injuries. Jonathan good lucchino said he saw the accident and has seen a lot of crutches. We constantly hear screeching marks of cars coming to a sudden stop. Often times we wait 10 seconds to hear the bang of the sudden impact. Police are looking to see it is very sad. It goes to show what can happen in the blink of a moment.
