Best placed BMW M6 GT3 for Nurburgring 24-hour race finishes qualifying in P8

This past weekend we got some action on the Nurburgring, once again, preparing for the upcoming 24-hour endurance race. The qualifying race took place and after six hours of hardcore driving, the starting positions for the ‘real deal’ are now set. BMW had no less than seven M6 GT3 cars lined-up at the starting line and the bests placed car at the end of it all was the #1 M6 GT3 which will be starting the race from P8.
Initially, the car came in ninth and the eight place went to the #98 M6 GT3 from ROWE Racing. However, the #98 car was disqualified because it violated the minimum number of laps per driver regulation. Therefore, the #1 M6 GT3 from ROWE Racing, driven by Nick Catsburg, Nick Yelloly, John Edwards, and Philipp Eng moved up a place, to P8. The #20 BMW M6 GT3 of Schubert Motorsport finished in P14. Jens Klingmann, Jesse Krohn and Stef Dusseldorp shared the cockpit of this car. ....

BMW to field seven M6 GT3 at this year's 24-Hour Nurburgring Race

This year’s Nurburgring 24-hour race is coming up fast and this weekend, the teams that have already signed up for it will be racing to establish the starting positions on the grid. The six-hour qualifying race is set to take place this Sunday and BMW announced it will be fielding no less than seven M6 GT3 cars in the 49th edition of the Eifel Marathon. That’s right, seven M6 GT3 cars will be racing this weekend for a good position on the starting grid of the race that’s bound to take place between 5 and 6 June.
ROWE Racing will have two cars in the event, cars number 1 (formerly #99) and number 98. The #1 car will be driven by Nick Catsburg, Nick Yelloly as well as John Edwards and Phillip Eng. The former two were among the driver line-up that won the race back in 2020, the 20th title for BMW in this historic race. Driving the other ROWE Racing car will be BMW works drivers Connor De Phillippi, Martin Tomczyk, Sheldon van der Linde and Marco Wittmann. ....

Renowned sportscar racing outfit Rowe Racing has announced that it would enter the DTM with the BMW M6 GT3 in 2021.
The DTM s move to GT3 regulations has not only opened the championship to a wide variety of manufacturers, but also enticed a number of racing teams that couldn t previously take part in it due to the barriers to entry that existed in the Class One era.
Rowe Racing is the latest team to take advantage of the DTM s new ruleset, joining Walkenhorst Motorsport, AF Corse (under the Red Bull banner), GruppeM and Jenson Rocket RJN among the list of new entrants for 2021. ....
