Noida gets Metro's nod to complete underpass work | Noida News

NOIDA: The Noida Authority can now complete the remaining 80-metre stretch of the sector 52-71 underpass, which has been stuck for some months now.
The commissioner of metro railway safety gave the go-ahead to the Authority on Tuesday to commence work around the metro pillar.
This pillar was in the vicinity of the under-construction underpass. Officials said the route will be thrown open from September 1.
However, the Authority has been asked not to use any heavy machines or earthmovers around the metro pillar while finishing work on the remaining 80-metre stretch. ....

Noida: In a major development that will benefit lakhs of Noida residents, it has been decided that the Bhangel elevated road will have direct access from Vishwakarma Marg, which has now become one of the city’s busiest traffic arteries. The Noida Authority has started work on finalising the cost estimates for building two loops at the intersection.
The six-lane elevated road is being built between Aghapur and NSEZ turn in Sector 82. Due to the presence of busy markets in Aghapur, Chhalera, Barola, Salapur and Bhangel, it currently takes 45-60 minutes to reach the NSEZ turn from Noida Golf Course. So, in June 2020, the Authority started work on building a Rs 468 crore worth 4.5km-long elevated road to bring down the commute time to half between the two ends. ....

NOIDA: The UP government on Friday allotted 12.3 acres in the city to IKEA for what will be the Swedish furniture giant’s first ‘meeting place’ venture in India – a shopping, entertainment and business centre revolving around the flagship IKEA store.
The plot in Sector 51 was allotted by the Noida Authority to INGKA Centres India Pvt Ltd, which is a subsidiary of the INGKA group that owns most IKEA stores. The company began negotiations with the Noida Authority in October 2019 over terms of payment for the plot and the deal was finalised after it paid Rs 850 crore.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the event virtually from Lucknow when Noida Authority transferred the land. The company paid Rs 56 crore as stamp duty to the government to get the land title transferred. ....
