New Delhi [India], May 15 (ANI): A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions to utilise PM Cares Fund to procure COVID-19 vaccine, install oxygen plants and other essential equipment in district hospitals across the country amid the second wave of the pandemic.
The plea, filed by advocate Viplava Sharma, sought direction to install the procured oxygen plants/ generators and other equipment in 738 district hospitals where medical services are available free of cost for COVID-19 patients.
It also requested the Court to direct the central and state governments to ensure that all the private/ charitable hospitals within their respective jurisdiction/administration procure, install and commission facilities to provide medical oxygen to its patients.
"Direct (PM-CARES FUND) to first fund.for immediate procurement (by importing and/or otherwise) of (a) COVID-19 Vaccine; (b) oxygen plants/generators.and forthwith installation thereof in 738 district government hospitals throughout the country," the plea filed by lawyer Viplava Sharma said, adding that poor citizens should get oxygen free of cost.

New Delhi, May 15 : A plea has been moved in the Supreme Court seeking directions to utilise PM Cares Fund for the purpose of installation of oxygen plants, procurement of Covid-19 vaccines and other essential equipment at 738 district hospitals across the country.
The plea added that it was already announced on April 25 that PM Cares Fund would allocate money to set up 551 oxygen plants using pressure swing adsorption at public health facilities.
