FSU Swim and Dive Hands Out Season Awards

Tallahassee, Fla.  – The Florida State swimming and diving teams handed out awards for the 2022-23 season on Saturday. “It was a great day to come together and celebrate our season,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “We’ve built an incredible team culture and I am very proud of our student-athletes and what they’ve achieved this season.” Yordan Yanchev, Edith Jernstedt were named the Most Valuable for swimming, while Samantha Vear and Tazman Abramowicz took home the honor for divers.   ....

Seminole Student-Athletes Honored At Golden Nole Ceremony

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Madelyne Anderson of the Beach Volleyball team, and football’s Jordan Travis were named as the Florida State Athletes of the Year at the 29th Annual Golden Nole Awards celebration at the Ruby Diamond Auditorium on the Florida State campus.  Anderson, a redshirt junior, has led the Seminoles to a No 4 national ranking this season and was named a First Team All-American in leading Florida State to the national finals in 2022.  Travis, a redshirt senior, earned Second Team All-ACC Honors in leading the Seminoles to a 10-3 record and a victory in in the Cheez-It Bowl over Oklahoma during the 2022 season.  The event, which is sponsored by Florida State’s Student-Athlete Development Office, has recognized those Seminoles who excel as members of the community and who have committed themselves to taking leadership roles on and off of their playing fields and courts.  The red carpet event is hosted by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee – a group of 40 FSU stu ....

Noles Continue to Battle at Zones

ATLANTA, Ga.  –  Three Florida State divers competed in finals on Tuesday at the 2022 NCAA Zone B Championships at the McAuley Aquatics Center. Jesco Helling made the men’s 3-meter final, while Victoria Cervantes and Izzy Gregersen advanced to the women’s platform final. Helling squeezed into the 3-meter final in 18th place, taking the last spot at 326.55. Improving every dive from his prelims round, Helling slowly climbed the ranks each round, until moving into 12th place following his front 3 ½ somersault pike that scored a total of 66.65 behind marks of 7.0 and 7.5. Helling added 63 points on his final dive, an inward 2 ½ somersault pike. However, stayed in 12th with a a total of 692.70 on the day and 366.15 for the round. Should Helling advance to the NCAA Championships on platform, he will be permitted to add 3-meter to his list since he finished in the top 12. David Vargas placed 21st with a total of 321.55 and Darwin Nolasco followed in 27th at 297.45. ....
