Governor J.B. Pritzker said earlier this week the state is set to move forward to Phase Five of his Restore Illinois Plan on June 11th. Over half the state's population is fully vaccinated, per the CDC, and COVID-19 numbers are declining across the state. Phase Five is a full re-opening, with all sectors of the economy, businesses, schools, and recreation resuming normal operations- with new safety guidance and procedures. The Wabash County Health Department announced four new cases of COVID-19 in the past week, bringing its total to 1,310; two people were in isolation. Wayne County did not release an update. The state Department of Public Health announced 478 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday and seven additional deaths. Statewide totals sat at 1,383,065 cases and 22,842 deaths. The Southern Region had a positivity rate of 1.3 percent on May 30th, down from 1.4 percent on the 29th.
