Filipinos see no urgency in Cha-cha –survey – Manila Bulletin

Only 23 percent or 2 out of 10 Filipinos agree that it is urgent to discuss Charter change at this time.
This was the result of the survey on Charter change conducted by Catholic church-run Radio Veritas from January 4 to 18, 2021.
The Veritas Truth Survey released Wednesday showed that a majority of Filipinos or 75% disagree on the urgency of the issue of Charter Change.
The remaining 2 percent are still “undecided” on the said issue.
Veritas said the strong public opposition, as indicated by the results, may reflect that there are more pressing concerns that the respondents feel that the government’s time, treasure, and talent should be dedicated to. ....

Veritas survey showed Filipinos remain optimistic


 
According to the nationwide Radio Veritas Truth Survey (VTS), 79 percent of Filipinos are optimistic that 2021 will be a better year.
 
In addition, the VTS said, 14 percent of those surveyed are not very optimistic that the New Year will be a better year, while 7 percent said, 2021 will not be a better year because of the on-going pandemic and the series of calamities that affected the country.
 
Sociologist Bro. Clifford Sorita, head of the Veritas Truth Survey said, the personal experiences of the respondents have affected their mindset.
 
“The experiences brought about by 2020 our Taal Volcano eruption, typhoons Ambo, Rolly, Siony, and Ulysses plus this COVID-19 pandemic has prompted our respondents to choose a somewhat CAUTIOUS OPTIMISM towards 2021. 3 out of 10 Filipinos pessimistic about 2021

Only 31 percent or 3 out of 10 Filipinos feel very confident that 2021 will be a much better year.
This was the result of the online survey conducted by Catholic church-run Radio Veritas on the Filipino’s level of confidence towards 2021 released Monday.
Conducted from November 20 to December 20, 2020, the survey also showed that 48% of respondents feels confident, 14% feels somewhat confident and 7% feels not confident when asked “How Confident are you that the New Year (2021) will be a much better year than 2020?” 
Though still a majority of around 79% (very confident and confident response) remains positive towards the prospects of the New Year, Veritas said, those who feel only confident outweighs those who feel very confident. ....
