The suspect had originally led police on a foot chase after they spotted him in a stolen car, firefighters are still on scene, checking for spot shot, showing a large plume of smoke over the neighborhood. He was worried that his own house was going to catch on fire. Moments later he heard a loud bang. He had been looking for a suspect and a helicopter over was telling residents to get inside and lock their doors. This all happened before 6 00 this evening when firefighters got there, they say the home was engulfed in flames. This will impact people headed towards the san mateo bridge or connecting from 580 to 880. More coming up.
