Vanderburgh County s Burdette Park Aquatic Center to reopen for 2021 EVANSVILLE, Ind. Burdette Park Aquatic Center will reopen for spring 2021, following all state and local coronavirus safety rules for similar facilities, Director Jerry Grannan told the Vanderburgh County Board of Commissioners Tuesday. The pool, which was closed last year due to the pandemic, will open May 29. It will close for the season Aug. 8. I think our community needs it, and I think everybody needs something to do, Grannan said. It s been a year, and we re going to do it safely. Grannan said the pool will operate at 75% capacity (about 1,800 people), and social distancing will be enforced at admission counters, water slides and concession lines. Concession booths will only sell pre-packaged items, and lounging areas will be distanced. ....

The Vanderburgh County Board of Commissioners announced Thursday that $771,150 is being awarded for the Green River Road Trail Project. This announcement is a part of the second round of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Next Level Trails Program. Vanderburgh County was selected as one of 18 projects to receive grant money. ....
