The nationwide COVID-19 vaccination exercise, pegged as the world’s largest, has been in planning for months.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch India’s massive COVID-19 vaccination drive at 10.30 am on January 16 via a video conference.
A total of 3,006 session sites across all states and Union Territories will be virtually connected during the launch. Around 100 beneficiaries will be vaccinated at each session site on the inaugural day. ....

Residents of long-term care facilities in Massachusetts began receiving their COVID-19 vaccines on Monday, two weeks after health care workers began receiving their shots.Those two groups were the highest priority groups in Phase 1 of the state s COVID-19 Vaccine Timeline, which was approved by federal officials. Police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel; those working in congregate care settings, such as shelters and correctional facilities; and home-based health care workers are the remaining groups that have been given priority as part of Phase 1.The second phase, which is expected to begin in February, will include those at high risk for COVID-19 complications; educators in grades kindergarten through high school; workers in the transit, agriculture, sanitation and public works sector; and public health care workers.Adults over 65 years old and those with one comorbidity are also included in phase 2.The general public will not have access to the vaccin ....
