Family visit leads to discovery of dead woman on West Side

A woman who had been killed was found in her West Side apartment Friday after family members who arrived for a planned visit couldn’t contact her.
The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was discovered at about 2:38 p.m. at the Villas on Springvale apartments, 7678 U.S. Highway 90 East, San Antonio police said.
Jennifer Rodriguez, an SAPD spokeswoman, said out-of-town family members had planned to visit her Friday. When they arrived, she did not answer the door, nor did she respond to calls or text messages. ....
