Officials said Azucena Nelson, 49, and Todd Owen Hafer, 53, were found dead in the residence in the 2000 block of Chittim Trail Drive. The medical examiner listed Nelson s manner of death as a homicide from a gunshot wound to the head and Hafer s was listed as a suicide from a gunshot wound to the head. San Antonio police were called to the home on April 6 at around 4 p.m. after a family friend requested a welfare check on the couple. He had spoken to the couple two or three days prior but hadn t heard from them since.
