The tigers are seeking the programs second title. Dabo says saban and alabama set the standard for College Football. Saban gives dabo props for leading the tigers to the number one ranking. Our players are very excited about the opportunity theyve created for themselves to have a chance to participate in the College Football playoff against arguably the best team in College Football, which is the clemson tigers. Our focus and attention is to try to play the best game we possibly can, which is probably what were going to need to have success. This was our goal was to have the opportunity to compete at the highest level, and not only are we getting a chance to do that, but were getting a chance to play the university of alabama, which to me has been the standard in College Football for a long time, but certainly since coach saban has been there. Clemson fans gathered around the state and here in the midlands to watch the big game last night. But, in the end, it was fans of the crimson tide celebrating a National Championship. This was the scene at Hickory Tavern in the vista. Dozens of clemson fans who are part of the Columbia Clemson Club showed up to watch. A handful of loud and proud bama fans did too. Clemsons a really good team. Theres nothing to take away from that. Youve got two really good teams here. Its not about the conferences. This is about two good teams, and alabama turned out to be the better team. I didnt know if wed be able it was phenomenal. It was all you could ask for. Great game.
