A CORK TD is imploring the Government to reverse what he has described as a “dangerous initiative” to allow English Language Education (ELE) schools to resume in-person classes from tomorrow.

On Monday, ELE schools received confirmation from the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science that in-person classes are permitted to resume from July 19.
“English-language teachers are set to join students on Monday at a protest in Dublin to raise concerns about the safety of reopening language schools when Covid-19 case numbers are on the rise. The Unite English Language Teacher’s Branch has called a protest against the reopening on Monday at 12.30pm at the Spire on O’Connell Street, from where participants will march to the Department of Further and Higher Education on Marlborough Street …” (more)
