indeed, after their stinging defeat in wisconsin s recall election, the rank and file may wonder what they have gotten for their money. big labor prevailed in ohio ballot battle last year, overturning a law that limited collective bargaining rights but the moven t has been stymied in the push for card check legislation and union membership for the private sector workforce and a hole declined since 2005. i think in some ways we look to attain political influence and find ways to grow the size of the union to get new members. in ways that frankly harm their existing membership. or their existing pension beneficiaries. the major union decline to public publicly but privately called it a hit piece with a crazy premise. saying it s not news that labor sought to advance the agenda in ways that wouldn t show up on the fdc forms and note corporate political spending and lobbying dwarfs that of the union. lobbying by company, trade associations, more than ten ....
