Georgia mayors call for Congress to pass COVID-19 stimulus bill
The mayors contend funds from the federal government will help provide relief for local municipalities.
ATLANTA - Some metro Atlanta city leaders have called on federal lawmakers to pass President Joe Biden s COVID-19 stimulus bill.
Mayors representing four Georgia cities held a news conference today to urge the Senate to take quick action. They contend the federal funds would provide much-needed relief on the local level. All these mayors here today, can tell you about the day COVID-19 hit, and we had to go in our pockets to fund things to get our people through before there was any money coming down from the federal government, said South Fulton Mayor Bill Edwards.
