now. the first call coming in at 1:03 p.m. eastern time that something was amiss and that there was a dangerous person on the campus. joining me right now, nbc news correspondent julia ainsley. julia, welcome. let s talk about what s happening there. we just have this person of interest, what else do we know? this is the second week of classes for students at unc chill. this alert went out around 1:00 to students and residents in chapel hill, telling them to shelter in place. no injuries reported at this time. i need to underline that. but we know that this incident was around the callville labs area around campus. around the bell tower area, that area went into immediate lockdown, and they re telling students and residents to remain in place. in fact, around 1:00, they even said stay away from doors and windows. there was a period of time that we thought the suspect was in custody. that appears to have changed. they now say this person is at large, and they have post ....
