Udhaar Loan used to offer credits at extremely high interest rates and resembled the name of a genuine Indian startup, Udhaar, to build its credibility, a phenomenon that researchers say is quite common. Udhaar provides alternate credit scoring mechanisms for “underserved individuals”.
