KATHMANDU, Jan 3: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has issued a warning urging the public to remain cautious as the risk associated with the JN.1, a sub-variant of the Covid-19 virus, increases.
All these are sub-variants of the parent variant, the Omicron which rocked the nation in 2022. And by March of that year, India became endemic, which means the numbers were low and steady.
Amid mounting cases of Covid-19 infections daily in India, majorly driven by the JN.1 sub variant, health experts on Friday said there is no reason to worry.
Following genome sequencing, four cases of Omicron sub-variant BF7 have been detected in West Bengal, according to sources in the state health department
A 21-year-old youth has been traced in Jaipur who has reportedly tested positive for Omicron sub-variant XBB 1.5, which experts say is more contagious than the previous strains of the virus.
