Fiji has reported five new cases of COVID-19 as of midday Friday.
The COVID-19 update issued by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services states these cases are members of one household in Muanikoso, Nasinu.
One of those cases is an employee of Extra Supermarket at Flagstaff in Suva.
“So all five of these cases have been under home quarantine following the discovery of that cluster last week. Contact tracing investigations are ongoing,” the ministry stated.
It also stated that contact tracing for Case 190 that was announced Thursday  from the Vunimono/Nadali cluster had identified him as being a potential high risk case for transmission. ....

Fiji has enough consumables for COVID-19 tests, says Ministry of Health permanent secretary Dr James Fong.
The ministry’s Head of Health Protection, Dr Aalisha Sahukhan, said Fiji carried out two types of testing: the real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test which was carried out at the Fiji Centre for Disease Control is one of them.
She said the testing was a conventional one and was introduced in Fiji in March last year. ....
