Fiji has reported five new cases of COVID-19 as of midday Friday.
The COVID-19 update issued by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services states these cases are members of one household in Muanikoso, Nasinu.
One of those cases is an employee of Extra Supermarket at Flagstaff in Suva.
“So all five of these cases have been under home quarantine following the discovery of that cluster last week. Contact tracing investigations are ongoing,” the ministry stated.
It also stated that contact tracing for Case 190 that was announced Thursday  from the Vunimono/Nadali cluster had identified him as being a potential high risk case for transmission. ....

Samoa Head of State, Tuimalealiifano Sualauvi Va’aletoa II, has agreed to convene Parliament after meeting with the Fa’atuatua ile Atua Samoa ua Tasi (FAST) party today.
The Chairman and founder of FAST, La’auli Leuatea Schmidt, confirmed the positive news from the Head of State’s residence late this afternoon.
In an interview with the Samoa Observer La’auli confirmed a second meeting with the Head of State this week was initiated by the party; FAST has recommended that Parliament convene by this Friday.
The reason behind the request for Friday is that hearings on 28 electoral petitions begin on Monday next week and should not be disrupted, he said. ....
