Times-Reporter NEW PHILADELPHIA The Mason Equity Group of Dover is the new owner of the Masonic building in downtown New Philadelphia. The three-story building, located at the corner of W. High Avenue and Second Street SW, was sold by a Wallick Auction online auction, which ended on Thursday. According to New Philadelphia Mayor Joel Day, the building sold for $448,800. The New Philadelphia Masonic brothers merged with the Tuscarawas Lodge 59 in Dover, so the building was no longer needed. Realtor Jan McInturf said he was not aware of any plans to change the building s current use. There are two existing businesses on the main level. ....
NEW PHILADELPHIA The New Philadelphia City Health Department has given the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to 1,727 people since December, Mayor Joel Day reported to city council on Monday. City Health Commissioner Vickie Ionno says that the health department’s mass vaccination clinics at Tuscora Park are going well, and will continue to be held each Thursday as long as there is supply and demand, he said. Ionno provided these vaccination numbers: • February (to-date) 1,019 • December 112 The health department will be closed on Thursdays while the staff is at the park.
