The new case is a 42-year-old man who lives in Thanh Hoa Town of the north-central province. He had come into contact with a group of Chinese male experts who tested positive with the coronavirus after returning to China later. ....

The 12 comprise eight in hotspot Vinh Phuc Province and one each in Hanoi, Hoi An Town, Dong Nai Province and Hai Duong Province. Further tests are needed to tag them as Covid-19 patients. The Hoi An victim, 27, is the wife of patient 2982, who was diagnosed with Covid on Tuesday morning. ....

The Health Ministry has said individuals who have completed the mandated 14-day quarantine and tested negative twice after entering Vietnam will not be released immediately. This rule will apply starting Tuesday, the ministry said, but did not specify the duration of extension at centralized quarantine facilities. Dang Quang Tan, head of the ministry s General Department of Preventive Medicine, said the ministry s latest decision was made after several individuals contracted the novel coronavirus after they d already completed the 14-day quarantine and tested negative twice. ....
