TROY – After losing by only one vote in the Democratic primary for the City Council’s Sixth District, Working Families Party candidate Marketa Edwards relaunched her campaign Monday outside Griswold Heights.
Edwards will be in a three-way race for the Sixth District, which covers much of South Troy. Edwards faces Democratic candidate Cheryl Kennedy and Republican Irene Sorriento.
The three are running to succeed Democratic Councilwoman Eileen McDermott who opted not to seek re-election to a second, two-year term. The electoral contests in the district are often very tight.
