we re looking at a critical week ahead for donald trump. the republican presidential candidates and american democracy. former president donald trump s 18 codefendants are required to surrender to a fulton county jail to face charges of attempting to overturn the 2020 election in georgia. nbc news reports that the former president will not appear before thursday, fulton county district attorney fani willis, who gave the defendants a deadline of noon on friday august 25th. but they could turn themselves in at any time before them. so they also tell nbc news that trump is officially skipping the republican presidential primary debate on wednesday, and instead he s apparently seeking an interview with tucker carlson. eight other candidates will take the stage without him, but inevitably that trump name will come up often. it remains to be seen how many of them will continue to defend the former president, and who will condemn his actions and stand up for democracy. this is the f
