we ll know more about the impact pap. what happened today happened quickly. word went out the verdict was coming in and 20 minutes later all the attorneys from both sides and all the jurors were gone. we do have pictures from inside the courtroom from our courtroom artist. he says it happened quickly, the jury finding pg&e guilty on five counts of violating pipeline safety regulations. and one count of obstructing the federal investigation of the san bruno gas explosion. you remember that 20-ton explosion killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes. pg&e was exceeding federal pressure standards on the pipe that blew up and failed to inspect the pipes as required after exceeding those pressure limits. san bruno s city attorney had this reaction moments ago. we hope the judge sends pg&e a pes message that it s not okay to risk people s lives by having inadequate records, manipulating the data, and misleading federal investigations. reporter: the city attorney wants the judge

michelle griego. pg&e could face a $3 million fine on charges from the san bruno blast but some community leaders are not satisfied with the potential punishment. kpix 5 s sandra osborne live in san bruno this afternoon with more. sandra. reporter: yeah. a bit of a mixed reaction out here. a news conference just wrapped up here at city hall leaders saying they are pleased that pg&e has the guilty verdict. even the city manager saying justice has been served. still, some question the maximum penalty saying that pg&e may not be facing enough when it comes to those penalties. you know that, explosion which happened back in 2010 killed 8 people and destroyed 38 homes. a federal jury found california s largest utility company guilty of misleading investigators about how it was identifying high risk pipelines. although prosecutors got the conviction, a decision to lower the maximum fine from $562 million to $3 million took them by surprise. still, today at that news conference of
