Duterte gov't to deliver 163 infra projects this year – Tugade – Manila Bulletin

The Duterte administration will deliver a total of 163 infrastructure projects worth P88.76 billion this year, either in partial or full commercial operation, according to Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur P. Tugade.
At the Sulong Pilipinas: Pre-SONA for Economic Development and Infrastructure Clusters Forum, Tugade emphasized the Duterte administration’s accomplishments.
Tugade noted that prior to this administration, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was the world’s worst airport, notorious for baggage tampering and pilferages.
However, under the current administration, NAIA has been ranked as tge 10th most improved airport in the world in 2018 and the government is rehabilitating it todate. ....

Lower your fees, Tugade tells vehicle inspection centers amid claims of exorbitant charges

Department of Transportation (DoTr) Secretary Arthur P. Tugade appealed on Thursday, Feb. 11, to operators of private motor vehicle inspection centers (PMVICs) to lower the fees that they charge to motorists as well as to suspend their re-inspection fees for a year.

“I am appealing to PMVIC owners show your solidarity with the administration. Lower your inspection fees to the current rates being charged by PETC (private emission testing centers), and waive the reinspection fee during this pandemic,” Tugade said in Filipino.
Under Land Transportation Office (LTO) Memorandum Circular 2018- 2518, PMVICs may charge an inspection fee of P1,800 on motor vehicles weighing 4,500 kilograms or less, and a P900 re-inspection fee should it fail the initial series of tests. ....

Megawide can still appeal to MIAA on its original proponent status –Tugade – Manila Bulletin

During the Senate Public Services Committee’s hearing, Tugade said Megawide may still appeal to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) to reconsider the revocation of its original proponent status (OPS) for the government’s NAIA rehabilitation program.
“Ang reading ko ho dito sa nangyari, hindi pa ho sarado completely ‘yong usapan ng original proponent status ng Megawide. Mayroon pa ho sila, halimbawa ho, kung gusto nila na mag-apela sa desisyon, sa aking pananaw, pwede pang mag-apela habang ginagawa ng MIAA ang kanilang reconstruction at rehabilitation program,” said the head of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the mother agency of the MIAA. ....
