After several starts and stops, the Boothbay Harbor Board of Appeals may be finally ready to hear a reversed September 2020 stop work order. A Jan. 23 hearing is scheduled to decide an appeal filed by McKown 29, LLC., represented by Tom Myette Jr.
Christmas came early for Boothbay Harbor Police Department this year as selectmen approved the purchase of a new cruiser, one of several pieces of good news for the department during the Dec. 11 selectmen’s meeting. Others included a $25,000 grant.
Last year, Boothbay Harbor selectmen approved a $500 donation to Harbor Theater on behalf of the town, according to Executive Director Lynn Thompson. Thompson and President Hamilton Meserve came to the Nov. 27 selectmen’s meeting to thank and update.
Boothbay Harbor selectmen discussed preparations Oct. 23 to revise several town ordinances. The board plans to meet with the planning board later this year for a workshop on the changes. Oct. 18, the planning board held a workshop to discuss several.
Boothbay Harbor’s automated town parking is off to a smooth start, according to Police Chief Doug Snyder. During the Oct. 10 selectmen’s meeting, Snyder said the town received around $160,000 in revenue from parking this season, which ran from June.
