We want (Naga) solution for our people,” asserted Tovihoto Ayemi, advisor of Power department. Tovihoto stated this during the inauguration of a welcome gate-cum-thanksgiving programme of NST Colony, Dimapur, on Saturday. Stating that settlement to the Naga political issue has been the desire and prayer for many years, he appealed to the gathering to support and participate in order to resolve the long pending issue. While reminding that the WC-NNPG and NSCN-IM have signed a ‘joint accordant’ on September 14, Tovihoto said the government of India is serious and added that the 60 legislators of the state are facilitating between the government of India and the Naga political groups. Our ReporterDimapur, Sep. 22(EMN): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members of 1-Dimapur-I mandal provided free food to the beggars and homeless people at Dimapur railway station on September 22 to commemorate birthday of Tovihoto Ayemi, advisor of Power department. Free food packages were also distributed to street vendors, inmates of sub-jail, police personnel and others. The organisers informed that they have prepared food for more than one thousand persons. Anthony, president of BJP 1-Diampur-I mandal, informed that the party has been organising similar programme every year during the advisor’s birthday at different locations. He said that the tradition of providing and distributing free food to the needy was started even before he became a member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. “We are inviting the homeless people, beggar, passengers and others to come and have lunch and also extended monetary assistance to some needy persons,” Anthony said. ....
Our Reporter Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda on Friday visited a church in Kohima and took part in an auto-rickshaw rally in Dimapur before leaving for New Delhi. Nadda, who was on a two-day visit to Nagaland, paid a visit to Mary Help of Christians Cathedral in Kohima, where he encouraged the church administrators to plant more trees for scenic beauty as well as environmental protection. He was accompanied by BJP Nagaland president Temjen Imna Along and MP S Phangnon Konyak. The BJP chief then flew in a helicopter to Dimapur airport, where he was received by Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, Minister of PHED Jacob Zhimomi, Advisor of Power department Tovihoto Ayemi and several other legislators. Nadda then got into a decorated auto-rickshaw for a rally from the airport to Niathu Resort with Patton. The BJP members and general public, who formed a human chain, waved BJP flags along the way. Dimapur, Sep. 5 (EMN): Advisor, Power, Tovihoto Ayemi, on Monday launched the Unified Rooftop Solar (RTS) portal in his office chamber at Civil Secretariat, Kohima. A DIPR report stated that the advisor, Power, his speech said that towards implementation of the rooftop solar scheme, the department should reach out to all the citizens and ensure to provide quality facility. Tovihoto also urged the department to create awareness that such facilities are available and people get the opportunity to avail the same. He also appreciated the Power department for strengthening the department from different angles of work. Tovihoto further encouraged the department to coordinate with the department of New & Renewable Energy in order to materialize the system. Speaking at the inauguration of welcome gate-cum-transformer at Dr. Haralu Colony, Burma Camp, on Saturday, Tovihoto stated that colony gate has become an integral part of the Naga culture, which also signifies their identity. He appreciated the residents for the prevailing unity in the colony. Terming development as a continuous process, he stated that it would take place gradually.
