After a doozy of a monday weather wise, well see a colder and quieter weather pattern with a couple of small snow chances. Our winds remain a bit strong this morning which is still causing some patchy blowing snow in some of our easternmost communities along with subzero windchills across the board. Other than that, today should be hazardfree as winds diminish just a touch but remain steady. We should also see a bit more sun too with highs near 20 degrees. Lows tonight will drop into the Single Digits as clluds inccease late and could bring in a few flurries if not quick snow dusting for some on wednesday. Well have another slight chance of flurries thursday night as highs continue to cling to the 20 degree mark moving into the weekend before getting their next big bump up to the 30s on sunday. Police chief. Ktivs tommie clark spoke with protesters and has the details. Tommmm . Matt, the controversy surrounds what some may consider racist and pornographic pictures that a former Police Officer claims were created by police chief John Emswiler. This is video of chief emswiler from a story ktiv covered back in august. I spoke with the City Attorney, who was indirectly involved with the matter. He says the information in question was on the Police Chiefs private computer, and somehow it got to the shared drive. The City Attorney says mayor Daniel Leinen investigated the allegations, and determined that disciplinary action was appropriate. He then administered that discipline in accordance with city policy. Mothershed kept his head down during todays court proceeding. He was released from a hospital and booked into the Woodbury County jail yesterday. Mothersheds bond has been set at 300thousand dollars. Hes scheduled to appear in court again next friday. Coming up on ktiv news 4 at six, more details in the mothershed investigation. A Police Officer has died after an overnight shooting in fargo, north dakota. The suspected shooter was later found dead in his home. The shooting happened when officers responded to a dometic disturbance. After the officers shooting there was a standoff with the suspected shooter. Its not clear yet if the suspect killed himself or died from police gunfire. The incident has shocked the community, a city that rarely sees such violence. It has been more than 100 years since a fargo Police Officer has died in the line of duty. The armed occupation of a National Wildlife refuge, in eastern oregon, is over the four remaining occupiers surrendered peacefully today. N

Attorney peter tenny claims his client made no verbal statement, and was completely silent. Tenny says that is insufficient to satisfy the burden of a valid, voluntary miranda waiver. An estherville, iowa, man says he wont seek a change of venue in his murder trial. Lee christensen is charged with 1st degree murder in thomas bortvits death back in june. Bortvits family reported him missing on june 6th. The 19yearolds body was found the next day in a rural part of emmet county. The day after that, christensen was arrested at the minneapolis airport. Christensens trial was orginally set for today. That trial was delayed over concerns about a potential conflict of interest regarding the attorney representing christensen and members of his family.
