The witness tells us the hit andrun driver hit and killed the boy here at this intersection around 6 15 tonight. A neighbor tells me he was out in front of his home watching his girlfriend back out of his driveway when he saw a sheriffs car with flashing lights chasing a four door sedan along east 18th street. He said the sedan ran a red light and estimated that it was speeding going about 40 to 50 Miles Per Hour when he struck a boy holding a skateboard. Just happened so fast. I really didnt pay much attention to the car because a sheriff officer was behind him so. Whats your reaction . Man, i was shocked. I couldnt believe it. Reporter the witness says the car got away but it appear it is driver was alone. Just moments ago the Alameda County Coroners Office confirmed the boy did die here at the scene.
