ROCHESTER, N.Y. Police agencies around the country are struggling to recruit the next generation of law enforcement officers, and there are many reasons as to why. One local agency is not only trying to solve the issue, but make sure the next generation reflects the community.
Amanda Hanlon says it’s her calling. Five years ago, she joined the Monroe County sheriff’s road patrol.
“I wanted to be a police officer since I was a little girl,” said Hanlon. “This was my dream.”
