On 08/12/22, at 1:44 AM, Fairfield Police responded to 112 Highland Avenue, Fairfield on a Domestic Battery complaint. The investigation resulted in Jason R Pfaff, 39 of Fairfield, being arrested for battering his wife Misty L Paff, 44 of Fairfield. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail and lodged pending a bond hearing on a charge of Domestic Battery. Misty refused medical treatment. On 08/12/22, at 12:25 AM, Fairfield Police discovered an unresponsive male in a vehicle on the Methodist Church parking lot at 100 W Main Street, Fairfield. The investigation identified the driver as Hunter W White, 22 of Bluford, IL. After indications of possible impairment, White submitted to Field Sobriety Exercises and was determined to be under the influence. He was placed under arrest for being in physical control of a vehicle while Under the Influence (DUI) and transported to the Wayne County Jail where he provided a breath sample that indicated a Blood Alcohol of .091. Last Friday a Carmi man filed a theft report saying that his car had been stolen. 64 year old Mark Winters told the White County Sheriff's Department that his silver 2005 GMC Yukon had been stolen sometime between August 1st and August 5th. Winters stated that there is a 4 inch by 4 inch section of the chrome plated bumper that was missing on either the front or back bumper of the vehicle.
