The lifeguards, speaking with the media at the Store Bay Beach Facility, revealed a number of grievances, including working conditions, outstanding wages, lack of equipment and PPE. Spokesman Cha Burris said: “Lifeguards have been working public holidays and extra on the Sundays since before covid19. We are working public holidays and we are not receiving these monies – sometimes a whole three months after, sometimes a whole six months after.
