The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) recently posted a video to its TikTok page of random items that are collected in the Montreal Metro lost and found ranging from shoes to rat food. This got us wondering what else the STM discovers aboard its bus and metro system. So, we reached out to the public transport agency for a few extra details on items most commonly gathered in the Metro lost and found and turns out the STM collects tens of thousands of objects every year.
The Société de transport de Montreal (STM) updated the Montreal Metro map to include new details and a modern design. If you managed to spot the new Metro map, then you've likely got a great set of eyes considering the switch flew right over many of our heads. In a recent video posted to the official STM TikTok page, a commenter asked if the map had changed after noticing some differences in the clip. Turns out, it did. "Oh yes, it changed!" the STM confirmed and the new look is definitely an upgrade.
Creative the STM social media team is. The Montreal metro map got a Star Wars-themed makeover to mark May the Fourth, the unofficial holiday celebrating the beloved sci-fi franchise. Now if only the metro could move at light speed. The reimagined map replaces all 68 real station names with Star Wars puns.
As Montreal is about to turn into a snowy winter wonderland, it's time for the return of STM's popular cheesy holiday sweaters, as well as the arrival of new Christmas accessories from our favourite public transit agency, the STM.
The day has officially arrived! Seven Montreal metro stations are now free on weekends this summer from June 24 to September 5 all as an initiative to promote public transit use throughout the 514. The news was first announced back on June 16, when Montreal Mayor, Valérie Plante announced that seven stations along the green and orange line would be free to access during the summer. The metro stations that Montrealers can access for free on weekends for the next few months are: Berri-UQAM, Champ-de-Mars, McGill, Peel, Place-d'Armes, Place-des-Arts and Saint-Laurent.
