A city landmarking of the oversized rainbow flag and flagpole at Castro and Market streets will not be completed in time for Prie Month because of a new wrinkle.
The San Francisco Historic Preservation Commission has unanimously approved plans to landmark the late gay artist Gilbert Baker’s oversized rainbow flag installation in the Castro neighborhood.

The event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is set to draw thousands for a rally at SF City Hall and march to Union Square, plus performances and a drag story hour.
