Pine street tuesday night after a resident at this Apartment Building received a package and was worried about opening it. Its the same building where an explosive device in a package went off around 4 00 a. M. Injuring a 60yearold man. The blast was just up to the right of my window. Very loud. Reporter philip wheatly was just a short distance away in his room at a pine street bed and breakfast when he heard a loud blast in the Early Morning hours. I in you it was a bomb. Reporter what was going on in your mind at that point. Its a bomb. Reporter wheatly visiting from australia says the explosion was followed by screaming and commotion outside as police and bomb experts raced to the 1800 block of pine street where the explosive device went off. One of the busiest travel days of the year has certainly lived up to its expectations. It seems as though everyone was trying to get somewhere this evening. Aaa predicts this will be the busiest holiday for travel in nearly a decade but for millions traveling to see loved ones the final destination justify all that trouble.
