Us along with our panel as we watch this, the idea this search might have to be stopped for a given length of time, its not something we certainly have never heard of. We heard that before with air France Flight 447, that the flight had already been found. But were way early on that. Were not i dont think for a moment were going to be talking about stopping at any time soon. Remembering the Southern Hemisphere winter, its coming into fall now, then winter will be coming along shortly. I think were some way off. Id be very surprised if hes going to announce hes bringing friends home tomorrow. Absolutely once winter arrives in the Southern Hemisphere and depths of winter, you wont find them going out. It would be too dangerous with the planes and it would be fruitless. They will do what they did with 447, regroup ....

The missing malaysian airliner. it is unlikely they are parts of the plane. we have the latest. reporter: a beach goer found a piece of sheet metal three and a half hours south of perth, australia. they don t have concrete evidence as to what happened to the plane. only clues. the four sets of pings the ocean shield heard. but they are ten missions in and unable to find anything of the plane. by the end of this week, it should be finished mapping out the area around the strongest signal, ping number two. after that, move on to more sophisticated technology. particularly the u.s. navy s orion submarine. but for all of the technology, this is just an educated guess. a series of mathematical equations and trial and error that have led them to this point. ....
reporter: alex, it s starting to feel like now or never, once again out here. they have a week right now where they are most intensely searching the area that they have a lot of hope for. it s the area they ve been further refining every single day. those four sets of acoustic pings that the ocean shield detected last week. it s the one where they believed the plane to be. if they don t find it in the next five to seven days, they ll have to go back to the drawing board and come up with a new strategy. they re not clear right now whether or not they re going to continue using bluefin-21 or go another route entirely. right now it searched about halfway through a six-mile radius, about three miles through that right now. eight missions, op its eighth mission right now, scanning the ocean floor, creating a 3-d map. seven previous ones have been completed. unfortunately nothing of note has come up on those scans. they do say they re still hopeful they re in the right area. alex? katy t ....
