patti ann: peter, it is all about jobs. unemployment is still close to 10%. the so-called real unemployment number who counts people with benefits unexpired or given up is much higher. so do you see this turning around? the most important thing will the economy grow? these new tax cuts will help a lot. i expect economic growth to pick up the first half of next year. maybe 3 1/2%. that is really good because that s what is required to start creating some jobs especially those private sector jobs that pay taxes and that in turn, help municipalities and the states hire more folks on their own part. so i expect more growth and a bit more employment. patti ann: but you know quite a few of these jobs being added are overseas. there was a big story in ap, this is according to the economic policy institute, companies say the labor overseas is simply cheaper. so given that, how significant are unions in this unemployment picture? well unions are significant but also china s undervalued curr
