Barbara Bienvenu, who serves as Mental Health Officer of the Jasper Police Department of the Jasper Police Department has received an award for the Texas Crisis Intervention Team for outstanding service and accomplishments.
Bienvenu, who is better known as Officer BB by her fellow workers was presented with the award over the weekend at a convention of the Texas Criminal Intervention Team in Amarillo.
Bienvenu, who has worked in law enforcement for over 14 years and with the Jasper Police Department for the last four years, serves a liaison between law enforcement, hospital emergency rooms, doctors, school districts, state agencies and the community when it comes to individuals with mental health problems or needs. ....
