Project members were able to pay the initial cost of bringing the aircraft to Lena due to the generosity of the northwestern Illinois communities. The jet was delivered to its temporary position at Rafters Restaurant just outside of Lena and will remain there until it has been restored and painted.
Over 100 walkway paver bricks have been engraved to date. Donation levels include bronze at $250, silver at $500, gold at $1,000, platinum at $5,000 and diamond at $10,000. The project intends to recognize higher donation levels separately at the park.
