Naxals launched a lethal attack on a CRPF unit in Chhattisgarh, firing rocket-shaped barrels called BGL and unleashing heavy gunfire. Three CRPF personnel were killed and 15 others injured in the gun-battle. The Barrel Grenade Launcher (BGL) is a country-made improvised ammunition developed by the Naxals. The attack took place in the Tekalgudem village, located along the borders of Bijapur and Sukma districts. The area is dominated by the 1st battalion of the Maoists People s Liberation Guerrilla Army.
