democrat s best friend. nbc s garrett hayes, thank you very much for that. clare mccaskill, final thoughts, what s at stake here in this election as far as your issue? well, extremism versus the middle of the country and both ideologically and frankly, physically. there s a lot of extremism in the republican party, and if they win both houses, that will be in full display. mitch mcconnell, we all act like he is a foregone conclusion that mitch mcconnell will be in control, if they take the senate, i don t think that s true. i think they re going to be electing the same people he called bad candidates, and they re not going to come to washington with a lot of loyalty to mitch mcconnell. their loyalty is going to be to donald trump, and jot how, and ed cruise, and that group. you ve heard of some real fights internally in the senate if democrats don t turn out on
to the debt, drive up inflation. obviously that s up for debate, but they are really excited about the opportunity to go after democrats and bidens over this issue and try to play upon the fears of voters, which is about inflation, which is still a very top concern. it is something republicans ought to be careful about here right. and certainly party strategists in the gop feel like there s an opportunity to cast what biden has done as irresponsible. the student loan policy is not going to make higher education more affordable going forward or ban the trend of higher and higher tuitions and less and less affordability. but i do think when you hear the language ted cruise was using, there are a lot of americans who know that they themselves are benefitting from this policy, and i do think you have to be careful about how you make the valid critique that there are
knowledge of what the jockeying is around this decision? which, again, listen to ted cruise, is sacrilege. so, the wall street journal guesses, he did get the assignment, and those not public knowledge. they continue, quote, roberts may be trying to turn another justice now. we hope he doesn t succeed, for the good of the court and the country. they re putting pressure on the justices in realtime based on, apparently, inside information. the column flew under the radar. but following the leaked politico, sure seems more than likely, a timely warning to conservatives on the court. and there s a context to look back now, which circumstantially, at least, fits with the pattern, perhaps, a conservative leaker trying to lock and votes in place. she explains the leak explanation is a scam, and she joins me now.
misinformation herself. look at the dhs mission statement. after 9/11 it was formed to protect our homeland. now it is facilitating at the attorney border and silence and censor political opponents. it is one of the top issues as we head to the mid-term elections. we care about you. great to sigh, pete hegseth. thank you. the white house refusing to condemn the leak of the supreme court s draft opinion overturning roe versus wade. chief justice robbers condemned the leaker in the strongest terms and launched an investigation. senator ted cruise s take. over 200 years of our nation s history that has never happened and one woke little left wing twit who decided to hell with his or her obligations to the justice they work for, to hell with their obligations to the work, to hell with their obligations to the rule of law, that they would instead try to sneak it
