We’re five games into the season.
Maybe it’s the hangover from the truncated 2020 season or perhaps, we’re forgetting that we’ve got 162 this year, but Brewers fans are antsy right now.

CHICAGO Freddy Peralta pitched five sharp innings, Travis Shaw hit a three-run homer and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs 4-0 on Tuesday night to stop a three-game slide.
Peralta (1-0) struck out eight and walked four. Kris Bryant doubled in the fourth for Chicago s only hit of the game.
The 25-year-old Peralta was a spot starter for the Brewers the past two seasons. He has expanded his repertoire, adding a slider that was crisp against Chicago. ....

Brewers send Arcia to Atlanta
The Milwaukee Brewers are going all in on Luis Urias at shortstop, trading Orlando Arcia to the Atlanta Braves for a pair of pitchers on Tuesday.
The Brewers acquired right-handers Patrick Weigel and Chad Sobotka in the deal, assigning both to the teams Alternate Training Site in Appleton. The Brewers then replaced Arcia on the roster with veteran reliever Brad Boxberger.
Arcia was hitting .091 through the first four games, starting the team’s last two games at third base.
Arcia hit .260 in the pandemic shortened 2020 season but is a .244 career hitter. Arcia’s best season came in 2017 when he hit .277 with 15 home runs and 53 RBI. ....

COVID Issues
As expected, the Nationals placed a ton of players on the IL with undisclosed illnesses. Josh Bell, Kyle Schwaber, Patrick Corbin, Brad Hand, Jordy Mercer, Yan Gomes, Alex Avila, Jon Lester, and Josh Harrison were all placed on the IL and will miss an unknown amount of time.

Orlando Arcia was traded to the Braves for Chad Sobotka and Patrick Weigel. Apparently the Brewers wanted to bolster their bullpen and Arcia added depth to the Braves bench. Arcia was sent to the alternate site, but that may be a matter of needing him to clear COVID protocols before he joins the teams. ....
